Just thought I would give you guys a quick update on where I am with my business. Like I said in my last entry, because of the situation I had to move business premises, and re-do all the work for my loan, well since then I have had to yet again reconsider premises, because of landlords been absolutely useless. Anyway, I have a viewing for my potential new shop on my birthday, 2nd April. I will update on how that goes!
I now have my website up and running : [link] .

New year <rant continued>

So last year wasn't great, those of you who know me well enough will know the extent of my personal issues that I've suffered with over the year, and most recently losing my grandma.
Since May last year I've been setting things in motion to open my own business, as I've said in other entries. I contacted the Princes Trust earlier in the year and was eventually granted a loan (for purchase of studio lights ETC.) in July, which I am still waiting for the charity to finalize. Originally it was planned for me to have my studio open in August, then September, then October (yeah, you get the picture), and as it is I'm still waiting.
Originally also I was supossed to be opening my studio in the town I live in, but in the time I've spent waiting for my loan to come through, another couple opened a studio less than one minutes walk from the shop I had secured, so I had to rethink things. My town is tiny, so small that the competition generated from having two alike businesses so close together wouldn't be beneficial, like perhaps in the bigger cities. My budget was the factor which originally forced me to not open in the city, as I thought I would never be able to afford a big enough premises, but after some searching and a lot of stress and more than just a few tears, I found the perfect place in the city, on a main shopping parade no less! As it is I've recently recieved the rental documents in the post, and they're all ready to sign after a few questions and answers with the landlord.
I'm hoping in the next couple of months my loan will arrive. If I have to spend another year sitting around and waiting I will surely go insane.
I wish you all the happiness this year, and that everything you want to happen does, and nothing that you don't ;) Good luck!
<EDIT> Okay, to kick the year off, because I moved business premises, I have to completely re-do all of my business plans, cashflows, market research.. and the people handling my loan could now refuse to pay it.. keep your fingers crossed for me! </EDIT>

Hey everyone, I thought it was about time I updated.
My life's been so up and down recently. Those of you who viewed my most recent submission will know I lost my Grandma, which is heartbreaking. But people can live forever in memories if they were loved, and she was loved by many, so she's still with us in thought daily.

I'm still trying desperately to get my business up and started. I am going through the Princes Trust (English charity) to get the loan I need to start, which I was granted in JULY! But they still haven't sorted out final paper work, and are seriously not rushing, which is irritating, to ay the least.
Also, I was going to set up my studio in my home town, but it's a tiny town and whilst I've been waiting for the Princes Trust to arange my loan, ANOTHER couple have opened a studio. My home town is far too small for this to be healthy competition, so I had to re-think completely, and now have secured a premises in the closest large city. This could be a good thing, it could be bad, we'll see once I'm open!

How are you all doing? I don't spend a lot of time on dA anymore, but I do still view all of your submissions, even if I don't leave comments!
